Austin, as big of a city it is, has not been blessed with a professional sports team (yet…). Well at least for the major sports leagues. The closest we have is the Longhorns and they have been, let’s say, underwhelming of late.
That’s alright though because there are many Texas teams to root for all around us. If you like non-Texas teams, it’s okay, I won’t judge you (I’m one of them..).
If you live in or around the Round Rock area, you will find many places to go cheer on your favorite team on the largest of screens and with the coldest of beer. If that sounds like an amazing combination, and it should, then check out the 10 best sports bars in Round Rock.
COVER 3
2800 N Interstate 35 Frontage Rd #200
Round Rock, TX 78681
(512) 693-2393
https://cover-3.com/
Cover 3 is an Austin staple with three locations including one in Round Rock just off IH35 and Old Settlers. Just walking into this place, you will get a feel for the owner’s love for sports and their desire to give you a memorable dining experience.
Wafting from the kitchen are the aromas from a kitchen that has won several food competitions such as Best Wings, in 2018, from the Austin Chicken Wing Festival! My problem here is that I am not a judge, sadly…
Cover 3 has also been featured as one of the 12 best burgers in Texas according to Texas Monthly magazine. There are too many accolades to mention here so check them out for yourself!

Rating & Reviews
Located on Main Street in the heart of downtown Round Rock, The Rock Sports Bar is a stand out among a number of nearby entertainment venues. With over a dozen screens, you can find a corner to watch just about any game available.
In addition to being a sports bar, they offer a full menu of burgers, wings, and even salads for the more health-conscious folks out there. Be sure to wash that meal down with their great selection of beer including options from local brewers such as Circle Brewing, Zilker Brewing, and Independence Brewing.

Skinny Bob’s Billiards & Sports Bar
Skinny Bob’s Billiards & Sports Bar
300 Hesters Crossing Rd
Round Rock, TX 78681
(512) 733-1111

Skinny Bob’s is more than a sports bar. That actually sells them a little short. It is a pool hall mecca and a great place to bet on your skill at Texas Hold ‘Em. It is basically a grown up’s playland. Holding tournaments in both those activities draw people from far and wide.
Now you can watch those players up close if you’d like or take a gander at all the screens throughout to catch the ball game. While you’re at it, go ahead and wet your whistle with $2 Bud Light drafts during NFL games or catch $3 Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas on Funday Sundays.

Home Run Dugout
3400 E Palm Valley Blvd
Round Rock, TX 78665
(512) 238-2288
https://www.homerundugout.com/
Are you a big fan of baseball? If so, then Home Run Dugout is your Valhalla for a number of reasons. First, it is located at the Dell Diamond where the Round Rock Express play. They are a minor league AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros!
Second, within Home Run Dugout is a digital batting cage. Go ahead and grab a bat and take a swing at the balls being pitched up to you. You hit into a screen that takes a look at the trajectory of your hit and gives you a visual representation of how far the ball would have gone.
Of course, they have a bar stocked with enough assorted libations to make your next outing quite fun. That along with rows of TVs watching just about any sport (mostly baseball) makes Home Run Dugout a sportsman’s paradise.

The Brass Tap is a craft beer lover’s dream. Many businesses on this list have their specialty and having a ridiculously broad selection of craft beer options is theirs. Some establishments are proud to showcase a few dozen beer brands, not these folks. They top the chart at over 150 brands and styles! That is not a typo! A zymologist paradise!

Fast Eddies
100 Parker Dr. 78728
Austin, TX 78728
(512) 410-4806
https://fasteddiesbilliards.com/round-rock/
Fast Eddies is one of those places that has a little something for everyone. They wouldn’t make the list without having a great atmosphere for watching sports. A plethora of televisions is mandatory.
However, there is a heavy focus on playing bar games, particularly pool, with a number of 8′ and 9′ tables. There are also ping pong tables, dart boards, golf games, and boxing video games. You will definitely have a lot of fun things to do.
After burning all those calories, be sure to check out the menu. Fast Eddies offers the quintessential bar food options like burgers and fries, nachos, and sandwiches. Don’t forget to quench your thirst with a respectable variety of cold alcoholic beverages.

Twin Peaks Restaurant
100 Louis Henna Blvd
Round Rock, TX 78664
(512) 238-7325
https://twinpeaksrestaurant.com/locations/round-rock-tx
Step into Twin Peaks to experience the lodge “mantality.” The atmosphere is one of a kind in that it is designed to look like an old hunting lodge. The rustic feel of all the wood hewn furniture and stone accents makes you immediately regret not walking in wearing hiking boots and a flannel shirt.
They go a step above bar food, offering deserts and mantastic salads for those needing to balance out all those beer calories. Especially if you are a fan of their house beer made in their own brewery! The beer is made up in the Dallas area but we won’t hold that against them, though.

There is something magical happening on Main Street. Round Rock Tavern is the third sports bar on that street downtown. Pub crawl anyone?
Their claim to fame is unique when comparing other business on this list in that they’re also a live music venue. If you are looking to support talented local musicians then stop on by.
If the TVs are tuned in to games between teams you hate, just head to the stage and grab the mic during karaoke night. You always wanted to be a rock star, right? Here’s your chance!

Ok, Cactus Nights Sports Bar isn’t on Main Street… They are a half-block north so shame on them for making me walk an extra couple hundred feet! That’s about 80 more steps! All kidding aside, they should be on your list and the reviews reflect it.
They are a live music hub as well, playing many of your favorite Conjunto bands from across the area. Cactus Nights is one of those rare places where you can meet the owner and feel the heart and soul of a place.

Night Owl Bar is the “Cheers” of Round Rock without Cliff and Norm, although I’m sure there may be a few folks that could qualify. They are also the new kids on the block, opening at the end of 2019.
